The HST EMR Solution will qualify physicians for $44,000 to $65,000 in Government incentives

July 14th, 2009

The interest in electronic medical records (EMR or EHR) software has absolutely skyrocketed in recent months. Since the Obama administration launched their new initiatives to spread adoption of EMR/EHR technology by 2013, we’ve seen interest in our Ingenix CareTracker EMR solution increase dramatically. In fact, it is the main driver behind many of our clients choosing our medical billing service and CareTracker EMR software solutions over their current billing software or providers.

What makes our EMR software so unique is the fact that it is a web-based solution that costs drastically less to implement than other EMR software on the market today. It is also integrated into our practice management software solution delivering a streamlined front and back-office solution for our providers. We can also implement our CareTracker EMR solution for a fraction of the costs typically associated with EMR solutions, so those practices who are looking to get started with EMR can turn to HST for our CareTracker EMR solution.

Once on with our EMR solution, providers will become a part of the nearly $19 billion of funding that President Obama has pledged to provide to physicians who do make the switch to electronic medical records. This incentives are real and available to those who qualify. As outlined in the M-HITECH Act, part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act signed by President Obama, a health care practice using a qualified EMR such as the Ingenix CareTracker EMR will be entitled to bonuses of as much as $44,000 to $65,000.

The total incentives per physician under Medicare for “meaningful use” of an Electronic Health Record (EHR) start in 2011. Many details of this program have not been released, but should be avaialble and released throughout the year.

Ingenix CareTracker EMR is a CCHIT certified EMR solution, which is a gold standard for electronic medical record (EMR) functionality, interoperability and usability and is a requirement to qualify for this type of funding from the federal government.

The HITECH Act is such a great chance for physicians who use EHRs today and those looking to use EHRs effectively in the future to be rewarded for their early adoption. We are thrilled about the opportunity to move our current providers to EHR/EMR and to guide them towards taking advantage of these significant additional revenue opportunities. We are dedicated to helping our providers reduce costs, improve practice revenues, stimulate cash flow and provide improved patient care.
